In the fundamental doctrines of the evangelical Protestant church.
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired, without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice.
There is one living and true God, eternally existent in three separate persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
God the Father is sovereign and creator of all things.
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by His death on the Cross, was bodily resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit, ascended back to the right hand of God the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us.
The Holy Spirit's role in the plan of salvation is to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ, that He is an abiding comforter, helper, teacher, and guide. He reveals God's will and word, empowers us for ministry, and leads us to testify of who Christ is.
All people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness of sin are offered as a free gift by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of sins and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her past, present & future sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.
Marriage has been ordained by God. We hold the definition of “marriage” as the exclusive covenantal union of one man and one woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. A civil government’s sanction of a union will be recognized as a legitimate marriage by the church only to the extent that it is consistent with this definition of “marriage”. (Matthew 19:4-6)
In the New Testament ordinances of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. These ordinances are observed in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ, as acts of love and devotion, and are not considered to be necessary for our salvation.
It is the responsibility of every believer to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that the Lord commanded us. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Ordination Principals at Grace Bridge Ministries
Ordination is a facet of any fellowship that has been developed. Ordination is closely linked to the directive given by the Lord Jesus Christ in His Great Commision as outlined by Matthew in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 28. Ordained men who have been selected by Church leadership has been ordained by an act of their own will and chosen by that leadership, and God Himself to further the Great Commission and fall right in step with the original decree as made by Christ. Under the umbrella of a church who has ordained someone the desire of that church, and its hope, is that the ordained party would serve the Lord and His people within the congregation where they were ordained. Maybe the ordained brother has aspirations to build another fellowship. The desire for the man of God is to move forward from the church that ordained them. In such cases the person is still ordained to preach, and teach, the truth of God's word because that is what the ordination was done for before God. However, the person is no longer under the umbrella of that ordaining body because of the decision to move forward. The person is now responsible for how their ordination unfolds. The church at Grace Bridge Ministries is no longer responsible for those who were ordained under its umbrella as their decision was to move forward own their own. Pastor of GBM
